BACKGROUND
The Marlborough Wine & Food Festival is New Zealand’s original and most successful
wine festival in what is arguably the best wine producing region in the world. The 2014
event will be a celebration of the 30 year anniversary of the Festival, which has always
been held at one of Marlborough’s oldest and most picturesque vineyards – Brancott
Vineyard. With over 50 wineries and over 25 food sites the event caters to a broad
market of both domestic and international guests looking for a relaxed but
sophisticated event to enjoy what this world renowned region offers.

“Festival 30 Pioneers”  Video – 4 mins  (45 minute documentary pending 2015)
To celebrate 30 years of Marlborough Wine & Food Festival and honour the traditions it has established, Wine Marlborough commissioned a series of promotional / historical video clips. The 4 minute brief video captured thoughts and stories of the early days from each of the various “pioneers”, incorporating supporting images and early footage. The video celebrates these people’s vision and hard work and form a valuable archive of the event and the early Marlborough industry.

Paul Davidson shooting an interview with Karen Ryan, the MW&F Festival Secretary in the early days (1970 – 1980’s).
