To celebrate 30 years of Marlborough Food and Wine Festival and honour the traditions it has established, Wine Marlborough commissioned a series of promotional / historical video clips. The 4 minute brief video captured thoughts and stories of the early days from each of the various “pioneers”, incorporating supporting images and early footage. The video celebrates these people’s vision and hard work and form a valuable archive of the annual event and the early Marlborough industry. to see VIDEO:

The comprehensive film (2015); utilizes early 1990’s footage, press clippings, developing more coherent stories of the pioneers, local event-goers and community reminiscences; the quirky and memorable. This is a story of how a small Festival grew an entire region.
The recent interviews of early festival pioneers celebrate these people’s vision and hard work and form a valuable archive of the event and the early Marlborough industry.
Paul Davidson, an experienced documentary maker based in Marlborough, has the vision to craft this documentary into a valuable new ‘tasting’ in the regions wine and food history.
The film will be of special interest to persons who enjoy wine and regional food, are knowledgeable about and appreciate the traditions of winemaking and wine celebration, matched with the regions finest gourmet foods.
